About my process

Wood engraving is a relief printing process. I use various wood engraving tools (spitstickers, scorpers and tints) to engrave the wood block. I use a Hercules table top press to proof the block and the FAG - STANDARD TP-510 to edition the block.

I also use an Albion, a Columbian and various etching presses in my practice.

My prints are hand printed by me directly from the block in limited editions and signed. Each print is an original – made by that process, not copied. The edition size is stated in each case. The image that results can only be made by this particular process, just as paintings can only be made with paint or photographs with a camera.
